Celebrating Ty Hebert

We were honored to host Ty's Celebration of Life on on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Heart of Rock Farm.   

W e think Ty would have been very pleased.  Our best estimate is that there were about 280 people present.  The dance floor was packed, and we celebrated Ty's life the best way we knew how...by DANCING.  It was an incredible evening.  
A mind-boggling number of volunteers showed up to help out.  Thank you...all of you!

Hello Dance Friends:

I'm very sad to say that our wonderful friend and dance teacher Ty Hebert passed away on April 6th.  

If you've known Ty a long time, you understand what a great loss this is: to his friends, to the dance community, and especially to Andy and their children.  

Even if you only met Ty recently, I know you'll remember his spirit and vibrancy.  Ty was someone you expected to live -- and dance -- forever. 

Before he passed, Ty asked to hold his Celebration of Life services at Heart of Rock Farm.  He and Andy had some time to talk over what he wanted to do ... and Ty wanted there to be a DANCE.  

And so there will be.   

Here's the plan for Saturday, April 18th:  

• Ty's Celebration of Life service begins at 4:00 pm, with the reception continuing on into the evening.
• Early Dancing will start at 6:00 pm for folks who've come for the Celebration of Life.
• Then the early dancing will flow right into the regular 3rd-Saturday Barn Dance, which officially begins at 7:00 pm.

What do you need to do?

• Come at 4:00 pm for the service and stay for the dance...
• ... or come to the Barn Dance at 7:00 as you normally would.  
• If you'd like, please bring a dessert to share.  
• Optional:  If you'd like to RSVP to give Andy a rough idea of who's coming, please go to the Event Page for Celebration of life - Tyrus Hebert on Facebook (only if you're coming to the service & reception).

We'll be dancing into the night, just like always.  I can't think of a better way to honor Ty Hebert.

As more details about the Celebration of Life become available, we'll update this page; so check back there again before the 18th.

By the way, I want to thank those of you who brought notes and cards to the dance last month for Andy to take home to Ty.  That meant so much to both of them.
