It started with dear friends who wanted to get married at our farm, followed closely by our beautiful daughter who's dream it was to have a barn wedding: suddenly Heart of Rock Farm was hosting weddings.
Our reception hall in the old Onion Barn includes a 28' x 55' dance floor with mirror ball, seating for about 150 (120 in the winter), a 10-foot bar with kegerator & wine refrigerators, an overhead display stage for decorating, and dressing rooms for the bride and groom. We don't have a full onsite kitchen, but we're set up for potlucks and catered-in meals. The outdoor area includes a beautiful wedding pavilion with rustic bench seating, a fire pit with hay bale seating, horseshoe pits & plenty of space for lawn games, plus some of the most beautiful sunsets you'll ever see.
We have relationships with some amazing local caterers that we're happy to recommend. Self-catering is also an option for both food and alcohol for events we host.
We're working on additional outdoor features, such as a patio, outdoor table seating, and a barbecue deck. Long-term plans include a wedding chapel in the old red barn, french doors leading to a long deck on the side of the Onion Barn facing Mt. Hood, and greenhouses for year-round fresh flowers.
The farm is perfect for indoor & outdoor weddings, showers, bachelor/bachelorette parties, potlucks, birthdays, rehearsal dinners, corporate events, celebrations of life, and almost any other event you can think of.
Close to Portland, Tigard, Sherwood, Newberg, & Tualatin; and only about 45 minutes from McMinnville, Salem, Hillsboro and Vancouver.

The view of the mountain is spectacular! The location is pretty, unique, and private. We're surrounded on three sides by the wildlife refuge, with a filbert orchard on the remaining side. (Late-night music isn't a problem...the ducks don't seem to mind!)
Our "country dirt-road" driveway is almost a quarter-mile long. Once you're here, it feels like you're way out in the country, but we're actually just outside the Sherwood city limits. To the East we have a beautiful territorial view of Mt. Hood. In the winter, the wetlands flood and the water comes nearly to our property line. It's beautiful...like living on a lake. The ducks and geese are our only neighbors, and there are plenty of them.
The property is easy to get to. It's right off Highway 99W, about halfway between Tigard and Newberg. In-and-out access is easy, with plenty of parking. We use lighted signs at night to help guests find their way.
The Onion Barn is a beautiful place to host an indoor wedding or other event of around 100-120 guests, any time of year. Late spring through early fall, the outdoor area is a wonderful place for outdoor ceremonies, group activites, picnics, games, and just relaxing. Our event hosting prices are really reasonable, with a lot of inclusions. We offer an optional in-house DJ service (DJ Lisa) for any type of event, and we have our own wedding officiant (Parson Phil). We also have a photobooth with props available. Think "package dea!"

Our History at Heart of Rock Farm...
Wedding planning is a major challenge for all right now, but we're moving forward with confidence. We've rescheduled or adapted most of our summer events and might need to reschedule some more, which will mean fewer available dates in 2021. At this point, though, our current clients have to be our first priority.
Washington County is in Phase 1 so Local Gatherings are limited to 50 people. Since we're now grouped with Multnomah and Clackamas counties, we can't predict when the county will move to Phase 2. With Phase 2 we'll be able to again host our normal limit of 150 guests in the summer and 120 in winter. In the meantime we have a couple of open dates for shorter/smaller events this year. Check the Is My Date Open panel for availability.
We're touring and booking for ...(continued on back)
We're booking for those dates as well as 2021, and still conducting tours by appointment. Limit of 2 adult participants for the on-site tour, but you're welcome to use Facetime or another program to include others virtually. We're practicing appropriate safety precautions before, during and after visits.
Barn Dances are on hold until things settle down.
We're always available by email, phone or text. If you have a question, please don't hesitate!
Hang in there folks. This has been a tough time for the wedding industry and especially 2020 wedding couples, but we'll get through this together!
